Raiden is home. I am happy that she is finally home, but I am still so very sad my babies are just bones.

Seeing her tail bones missing the tip makes me extra sad because the amputation didn't prevent losing her.

My astro is lvl 50(lvl 51 actually) so I actually customized my dungeon portrait because I really wanted to get the yu-gi-oh vibes across.

It makes me laugh and while im not a great healer, I am keeping people alive and I love the aesthetics.

I got the bird though.

I have just the Final Day trial so I'll do that tomorrow.

I really don't enjoy trials

Nothing makes me laugh more than the search info for Loryss. You can see the two jobs I actually play (drg/rdm) and the real reason I play this game (crafting)

(Jk I really love the story, I just love crafting)

I've been knitting a very self indulgent pair of socks...my radioactive shrimps (from walmart) under black light!

Started putting together my Chocobo commander deck finally!

I am so excited I managed to snag my card protectors for this deck.

Back pantalette embroidery finished! Now we move onto dress embroidery, but I don't think im as scared anymore. Just worried about time.
July 27, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Finished backs and front of the pantelettes. The back still needs the embroidery, but that is today's activity.

They have turned out very cute, and I'm pretty happy with them.
July 27, 2025 at 6:23 PM
The pantelettes have super cute cutouts, but I am not shaped like a videogame character, nor does game physics work for me. So I found some souffle net that matched my skintone and sewed it into the cutouts so that they would hold their shape and not distort on my body when worn.
July 27, 2025 at 6:17 PM
I next cut out a bunch of 1" bias strips out of the textured silk so that I could make 1/4" rouleaux.
July 27, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Now came the scary part: The actual embroidery.

What's worse is this is the entire reason I picked this costume.

I started with a tight stitch along the pattern via machine, cut open the center, and did tight overcast stitches along the opening. I am using knit picks luminance lace bare yarn.
July 27, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Next step was assembling the front insert and embroidery. I started with the insert vs the back because I could recut this if I hated it.

I pricked holes along my drawn design and transferred it with my purple frixion pen, connecting the dots once the pattern piece was removed.
July 27, 2025 at 3:33 PM
Setting aside the dress for the pantelettes because I wasn't going to do the first embroidery on something front and center. This is also another thing that I don't care to share the mock-up process. It was ugly, but we got there
July 27, 2025 at 3:13 PM
The main front and back pieces were assembled and while I got to the point where I was ready to work on the embroidery, they were pinned onto my dress form and allowed to hang so, while I don't have everything together, the bias can still drop and I dont have to worry about that later.
July 27, 2025 at 2:59 PM
The bust area was giving me some trials, but after fitting my bra foam base piece, I was happier with the shape. I needed to figure out how to hide the zigzag stitches from showing through the fashion fabric, so I used some fleecy domette, and it worked the way I was hoping.
July 27, 2025 at 2:53 PM
I got level 80 on my red mage, which means I finally got to start the other job I've been looking forward to!
July 20, 2025 at 7:37 AM
Sleeves are finished! I think technically they were the most complicated and tedious for the project (she says only having sewn the sleeves).

I am hoping I have less trouble with the rest of the dress.
July 17, 2025 at 3:22 AM
Cuffs assembled! Because the outer cuff is bias, I hit it with the steam iron and molded it. I tacked it to hold the pleats in place. I also pick-stitched the placket opening before gathering the sleeve down into the cuff. The cuff is hand-stitched closed after pressing.
July 17, 2025 at 3:06 AM
The long ruffle of the cuff is just an 18" long strip of fabric that I ended up cutting on the cross grain because I didn't have enough to cut on grain.

I did a small baby hem with ban-roll and a compensating foot.
July 17, 2025 at 2:35 AM
I also discovered in starting my sleeve that lots of internal structural sewing that is done by machine is far more noticeable than I liked...so I decided pick-stitching was the way to go. My cut-out opening facing also was too big, so it got trimmed down, pinned, and slip-stitched.
July 17, 2025 at 2:25 AM
Yes! I'm gonna do eyelet embroidery/broiderie anglaise because that's what it looked like to me in the game, and it is something I wanted to do!
This is just my tester to make sure it would work with my fabric and silk yarn I had in my stash!
July 17, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Using organza as interfacing! I didn't want anything with glue because I didn't wanna fuck up the drape, and most other things would show through because white fabric. Same with the stay tape. It is 1/2" organza strips cut on the bias. I basted everything in place before sewing.
July 17, 2025 at 2:01 AM
Started with the sleeves because they were straightforward order-of-make wise.
I had a fun idea for the cuffs. I cut a rectangle larger than the cuff on the bias and gathered it down to match. It'll be steamed and tacked in place, artfully, to recreate the texture from in game.
July 17, 2025 at 1:55 AM
Cutting out everything took forever because I decided to use a bunch of slinky silk fabrics. I think it was worth it.
I have a crepe backed satin for the main dress, a habotai for the lining, and a neat textured silk for the halter and neckline portion. I also decided on organza for my interfacing.
