In 2025, intuos 5 & onwards are all solid options, secondhand is nothing to scoff at.

Anyway my intuos 5 has been lasting me 15 years and counting, it's incredibly solid & reliable. I've used intuos 4 but it's a bit clunkier and I prefer the thicker pens.

Here's my rec: If you're just starting out and unsure if it is for you, absolutely go as cheap as possible, even a Small.

If you're sure you want to commit, I highly recommend a Medium size, for ergonomics alone. (cont.)

As professional artist, I've never needed more than 2048 pressure sensitivity levels, in fact I barely feel a difference above that. The latency is also virtually non-existent.

Unless you need bluetooth for whatever reason, buying an older model for cheap secondhand is a great shout! (cont.)
