There is certainly logic to that. But isn’t the oxygen used up at some point and oxidation stalls, if no more of it is added due to the Argon cap?

Agree. Put the cork back in and put in your fridge, just like any other perishable item. The only “add on” that I consider useful is Argon, which is sold in spray cans and creates a layer of inert gas on the surface of the wine
