hmmm... not a fan of how many moving parts the doc FoF strat has [fig.1]

drafted a probably simpler approach [fig.2] where the conga players anchor in place after finding their position, and you only ever need to know your own tether element. #ffxiv #FRU #raidplanning
An illustrative diagram of possible positions during FoF in Phase 1 of FRU, for the west-side tether group, as described in the "google doc" slide deck compiled by Evansith. In this (currently orthodox) approach, the conga players - after solving for one of four conga positions - must then immediately consider the elements of the other two tether players, while positioning precisely both times. This puts a tremendous amount of cognitive load on the conga players, who are forced to ingest a large number of field elements simultaneously. The tether players, conversely, only need to know their own tether number - which doesn't even need memorization - and swap between their two static positions. An diagram of my "Conga Anchor" draft proposal. Conga players focus solely on solving the conga line to receive their own static position. (As a bonus, these positions map laterally onto the conga line.) Each Tether player takes North while on standby ("Other Tether"), but when they go "Live", they simply position based on their OWN element: Center of group if Lightning as usual, but "More North" if Fire, pointing the cone South.
