My real family are the ones who didn’t abandon me when I said I am scared to live as myself in my own country, are the people who have been there for me since my mother died, and actually talk and reach out to me when I’ve been radio silent for months just to check if I’m still breathing.

It’s not for a lack of me not trying to be in touch or informed.
They wonder why I don’t make more of an effort to talk to them when they’ve already shown how little they really care about me. It’s just the rest of my family treats me as an afterthought and also don’t even try to meet me halfway.
