Homemade applewood smoked pulled pork for today’s shenanigans.
Pulled pork in a slow cooker after reheating. 10 lbs of pork that was brined over night, and then smoked for 7 hours. Not mushy but still pullable. Seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, cinnamon, cumin, medium hot chili powder, and apple cider vinegar.

And now for something different for your timeline: my second Warhammer model in a playable state. It’s a T’au Empire XV-88 Broadside Battlesuit. I may go back and touch up a couple of things but I am content with how it looks. I’m learning a lot of how to build and paint these. #Warhammer40000
Warhammer 40000 T’au Empire XV-88 Broadside Battlesuit in Vior’la Sept coloring: white, red, and grey. Model is inspired by Japanese style mechs. The main weapon is a rail rifle. The base is made to look like arid desert like terrain.

Fully assembled, painted, and based Warhammer 40000 miniature of legendary character Commander Farsight, leader of the Farsight Enclave, and offshoot of the T’au Empire. Character is in a mech suit painted red with a white head, holding a sword and shield standing on a grey stone flanked by plants that are flowering with white and blue buds. The base is painted to imply a desert or arid environment with tan colors. The paint somewhat follows the design from Games Workshop.

I can paint bases pretty well at least… still working on the model that goes on it. Honestly I think this is some of my best paint work on a miniature so far.
Warhammer 40,000 base for a model named Commander Farsight, a T’au Empire character who by the story is a heretic and has created a splinter faction. Base is a grey stone with small trees protruding from either side with white and blue flowers. There are also brown tufts of foliage, a skull, and a desert-like floor. There are also paint pots and unpainted but primed minis in the background.

AAP has it right: care is between the child, their parents, and their doctors. Nowhere in the process does the government need to be involved. Even in the case of “universal healthcare.” The government should not and cannot be an HMO.

My cute if sometimes annoying cat Mickey. He was always good for a cuddle or doing his impression of a parrot. From a scrawny cold barn kitten to a cat I took to calling Old Man. A cat who was sometimes too much under foot. It’s been 3 hours since he passed. I’m wrecked and so is my kid.

Search engine result for query “ASCII code for uppercase X” that returns the value of 88. 88 is a racist/white supremecist dog whistle as 8 is the letter H in the English alphabet and is used as code for HH for “Heil Hitler.”

Swipe your rewards cards. Yes you’re giving up some privacy for it but it can pay. It saved me $2.17/gallon.
Gas pump receipt. Gallons pumped was 8.877. Price per gallon was $0.729. Total cost was $6.47. Rewards program card reduced the price by $2.17/gallon.

I have experienced serendipity for the first time here on Bluesky. And I’m marking it suggestive because well yeah.
Two Bluesky posts as they came in my timeline. The top post is about Carrie Underwood performing at the 2025 inauguration and her comments about it. The second is a topless woman with hands covering her exposed breasts/nipples with her middle fingers extended which expresses the same sentiment I have about the subject of Underwood’s performance.

Siri: Why am I single?
Screenshot of Xbox year in review that shows far too many hours playing video games. My number one game this year was Call of Duty surprising no one. Somehow I played 127 games. November was the busiest but that’s because Black Ops 6 released, and I used a ton of vacation time from work.

So… one of the things I enjoy is cooking. There are very few things I cook twice in the same way because that’s how I do it. Tonight’s dinner was beef stew in the slow cooker. #Foodie
Beef stew in a crock pot (slow cooker). Has beef shoulder that was browned prior to adding to the crock pot. Included yellow fingerling potatoes, carrot, onion, sliced pepperoncini peppers and the brine, bay leaves (yes they add flavor and are worth using), beef onion soup seasoning, and chicken broth. Cooked everything on low for about 5 hours and then high for the last hour. The beef was sliced into chunks before serving. Flavor was savory and tangy thanks to the peppers.
