Authoritarianism starts small. It’s not an all out war on individuals. They test the waters as a litmus of the level of resistance. They might start ignoring historical and societal norms to see how open the gate is. Something innocuous like renaming a 500 year old body of water. How did you react?

Europe can’t rely on the strength of the transatlantic relationship to help contain Russia’s threat – it must lead from the front and be the true force of support that Ukraine needs. Not just for Ukraine’s sake, but for a free and sovereign Europe.

I know there’s a planned economic blackout Feb 28th. Take it further by only buying essentials and making those purchases at stores that align w/ your values. Reward companies who value their workers, diversity in thought and culture and standing up for democratic norms.
