Thinking about since yesterday. Are Labour reacting to what they perceive to be the power of the press to influence people’s opinions? Is that power still real? Markets do have real power but do they still have the same view of the world that Labour think they have?

To be fair this is the case for most places I’ve lived. Transport systems tend to radiate out from a central point. In South Wales that is Cardiff. But even more locally for me all roads lead to Caerphilly. Even in London it is radial but with many more centres.

Just read your piece on multiculturalism in UK and the Sudan reporting suffers the same issues. People are used to simple binary arguments through social and published media. Complexity is hard, much easier to either ignore or decide your view is correct and shout about it.

Key phrase is ‘business’ who will want to know probability of outcome so they can plan vs others who are more interested in reporting the gossip and showbiz of politics.
