#Irony: the UK police arresting protesters saying people in Gaza should get food, but standing by at protests by bigots saying asylum seekers should be killed, while the UK's king, queen and prime minister attend a VJ Day memorial celebrating the bravery of people who fought against fascism.

Kelso Abbey in the Scottish borders. The damage wasn't Henry VIII, but the Earl of Hertford, who in 1545 ordered his troops to destroy the abbey.

At my cousin's funeral, I was deeply moved to hear his son's tribute: "My dad's mantra was 'It's fun to fail'."
By helping his kids see that that failure is OK, he made them unafraid to try.

London early morning. We contribute so much to #ClimateChange, which causes drought & floods. Then we demonise people forced to leave their homes, and turn 'migrants' into a term of condemnation 😞
