If you stretch my experience out over 100 years your house could become worth 20 times what you paid for it. It you take my in-law example they had 3 sons who between them had 4 grand kids. Each some would get over 6 times the value of the original home so each grand hid would get 3 times that value

My home has nearly tripled in price in the last 15 years. I have no kids. I re-fi’d during Covid on a 30 year mortgage. Will I live to own my own home? Unlikely. Will I be able to travel m? Yes. Will I be able to sell it before I die, buying a smaller place that’s more remote outright? Yes.

Along with my years of equity in a home they will be able to give to their children.

In Germany they have 100 year mortgages that you pass down to your family and the grandkids own outright in the end, the monthly mortgage is low and you have more cash in hand to spend in the moment. Yes it’s an economic manipulation. But it works for them.
