Great performance of Mahler’s 5th Symphony by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra tonight. Martha Gibiser Shea said, “You will never hear a better performance of Mahler’s 5th.” She knows this stuff. I said that the harp entrance in the 4th movement was the most beautiful music I’ve ever heard.
