Most modern mobos have the bios flashback which works without a CPU! For me, there's a USB port with a white outline which I put a thumbstick into, which has a file with a specific name, it blinks for a bit and then stops after the update is done

The motherboard needs new bios to support the 9900x3d & 9950x3d! I updated mine a day before, ASUS dropped the bios a few days before the launch day.
