Hey, I'm Golly, or Cas, I'm a C# software developer with around 7 years of experience. I mostly talk about random thoughts, things I'm tinkering with, and thing I found interesting or funny. 28 year old asexual disaster woman, she/her.
Oh wow it looks so good! I'm in love with the UI, excellent job!

I could see something interesting with, say, many possible dialogue branches and an AI (maybe not a full scale llm but something smart enough to understand natural written language) that directs the user down a relevant path when they make an input. But that would be a lot of human work.

Facade was a really interesting game where you're mediating an argument. The unique thing about it is you can type anything and the game tries to figure out what you're trying to say and follows the relevant dialogue from there

This is how I feel about the AI text game. I was massively disappointed with it, but liked the idea.

I could see this kind of tech being used to make interesting narrative branches that react better to user input (thinking an advanced form of Facade) but it'd require a LOT of clever human labor.

I primarily listen to video game music because I can think through it. Something about people talking makes it impossible to focus on things for me (outside of wordless tasks like chores or drawing). It helps me think throughout the day. It becomes the background music for whatever I'm doing.

There's also just generally a lot I'm accepting will be simplified. This is not a historical fiction, it's a text based interactive fiction. As interesting as some things could be, I can't as one person incorporate everything. At least, not for something that isn't my only planned project.

Generally speaking: the category art is art for arts sake. It's not a perfect system but for gameplay it's an important distinction. I'm also leaving things out. Food, minerals, carpentry: all things kinda ignored in my game. I'll still likely feature hints of them throughout quests though.
