I was blown away by Upchuck’s album in recent releases, more so than Snooper which I thought was fine but not special

And I’ll throw Cephalosis in the mix as well. Puman, Bagedai and Manhu on the more reggae/world side of things… I get excited, sorry…

They very rarely perform. They’re the biggest Yunnan band right now apart perhaps from Akini Jin (but that’s more on the pop side). Not sure how a foreign audience would react to them not knowing Chinese. Other current Yunnan acts I recommend: 本能实业 (Instinkto Industrio), 脱兔 （Run! Rabbit Run!)
