To whom it may concern, I, like many of those on Bluesky, have concerns as to the new guidelines. They bear a striking resemblance to the guidelines on other platforms that decimated their usability and drove away their primary user base. To try and force people to demonstrate explicit consent of a sexual act in an art piece is a monumental demand as it threatens the misreading of the piece leading to consequences for the poster. Not to forget that any non-traditional sex is more likely to be misread despite kink being a consensual, and healthy part of many people's relationships. Such censorship also could work against survivors of various traumatic events as it could prevent them from talking about, or creating art pertaining to, what they survived. Bluesky already allows one to flag content as mature and block tags that they'd rather not see, as such these new guidelines don't seem to serve any real purpose aside from silencing free speech and freedom of expression. So I implore the people behind Bluesky to reconsider these guidelines and the message they send to their user base.
