It's not a huge part of the design but It came to mind with the high waisted wide leg pants with the ribbon and frill around the waist almost simulating a belt and undershirt messily kept in place. I think its more so what my mind wandered to rather than something concrete.

I have to ask, Did you take any inspiration from specific clown archetypes or did you just mix and match your favorite aspects. I'm noticing aspects of tramp, pierrot, harlequin, and jesters. It's a very fun looking design.
