When I was five I told my mom I wanted to be an artist when I grew up, and she (a struggling writer herself) said "Oh hon... art doesn't make much money..." but I thought about my other options and decided being president carried too much risk of assassination, so I kept drawing instead.

while watching the new Frankenstein, I dug up the book to settle whether the creature's creation method was described clearly, (not particularly), and what a spooky little surprise to realize the Creature was originally brought to life on a rainy November night... just like tonight!! wooo~

just about getting back to normal, healthwise. still have no idea what was causing my immune system to freak out so badly this spring but it seems to have calmed down. now i'm just recovering from the recovery process; sitting around so much left my legs in rough shape.

My ipod nearly ran out of space over the weekend, but I jettisoned a bunch of apps (why did I have Keynote on this thing?!) and STILL was low on space, until I realized the podcasts app was holding onto so many downloads it was taking up as much space as my music app.

yknow that bit in PeeWee's Big Adventure (spoilers) where he's rescuing animals from a petshop fire & several times he pauses at the snake tank, grimaces, & goes for a cuter pet, until finally it's just the snakes left & he runs out covered in snakes, anyway that's what avoiding tasks feels like

my partner needed a mask to paint on for halloween and i remembered and located one I'd bought but never used roughly ten years ago, which managed to survive a move. this is doing nothing to dissuade my craft supply hoarding tendencies.

ok so bear w/ me: there's an ep of the pokemon anime where team rocket had set up a gaudy pokemon salon as a rival to a more established holistic one, until everyone realized how dumb their pokemon fashions were (literally being a mob front was not at issue but sure the problem is they're tacky) 1/2

having to make some calls to my credit card company today and nearly got trapped in a robot phonetree that kept mishearing me. the rapidity with which I went from yelling "CONNECT ME TO A REPRESENTATIVE, NOW!!" to having a pleasant, informative conversation with a human being was staggering.

a series of unfortunate events: after every episode i have at least ten complaints about the writing, directing, stylization, and bonkers color grading, which is a real shame because i love the books! keeping at it because i like the actors but hmmm. :T tbh it shoulda been animated.
