#Tonsillectomy recovery day seven - scabs are coming out, no active bleeding, ears hurt so much (“referred pain”) but feels so nice to not be on antibiotics. Chewable/dissolvable OTC meds are the best during the day but still need Roxy at night. And those lidocaine lollipops… genius.

DID YOU KNOW: We had fewer federal workers in 2024 than we had in 1970?

The White House asking every federal employee to send an email summarizing what they did last week is something that FOIA lawyers dream about

Sending an email to employees asking them to list five things they did that week is a classic move from a manager who has no idea how to manage

The brain-drain has started. Many exceptional people are leaving federal government, across sectors. In some cases there will be an empty desk where someone is sorely needed. In others, there will be an incompetent partisan hack gumming up the works.
We are hearing that Andy Singleton, director of a new and promising Alzheimer's research center at NIH, just announced his resignation.

This will disrupt innovative new Alzheimer's work to go beyond the "amyloid hypothesis." Bad news for anyone who's been touched by this disease. 🧪

Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.

Document, document, document.

Act confused. Be confused! Go slow. Require clarity. Lots. Document

Thank you! A federal judge blocked U.S. DOGE employees from altering any records of payments at the Treasury Department while she weighs a request by public interest groups for a broader injunction against their activity. Thank you, U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly’s! 🙏

This is not a U.S. Marshal, Federal Protective Service, or any other federal law enforcement officer. This is a private security guard from Triple Canopy. He has no authority to block members of Congress who have oversight of the EPA from entering the building.
We were just denied entrance into the EPA after asking to meet with a DOGE representative. More to come.

These systems are built on the bones of databases we no longer use but require and with a language more foreign now than Latin. The people who built these systems are dead and those who maintain them are literally just trying to “do no harm.” Go home tech-bro.
