Behold the big squirrel! So big, he doesn't need diapers any more! He knows how to go to the potty all by himself, and he gets there in time nearly most of the time always! ^.^

Eleanor is little and super tough, and she has a tiny baby incarnation (in "Little Alvin and the Mini-Munks") where she's the youngest who can't talk or walk or get into misadventures with the bigger chipmunks yet. ^.^

Heehee, I read it the way you meant, but you're very right about the way they look! They didn't settle down into a sort of fixed look until the cartoon in 1961 - and there's been a lot more fluctuation ever since. I just find this kind of thing fascinating... ^.^

It wasn't much of a contest. Look at those other nominees! "Adventures in Music, Grade 3"? "Stories and Songs of the Civil War"?! Were the chipmunks the only good children's music in 1960? ^.^
