If it matters to you enough, I think you can use this as the sketch, and do a pixel perfect redraw of the sprites, or write some kind of post render filter that forces pixel perfect?

Soon I'll start posting how the various body parts from different characters/creatures can be connected together in the game.

We put our first one out on itch.io only because we also sell our visual novel there. Let me tell you, the organic traffic is non-existent. XD We sold like, 10 copies and were the 6th most popular in book category that day. Would love to hear about other indie authors' experience.
