I feel like they might do 40-50 minutes of regular stuff and then potentially end the direct off with a Mario 40th segment including the movie trailer and a few small announcements? Maybe that’s why it’s so long? Otherwise it’s just that there’s still a lot to announce for Switch 2 lol

Was looking forward to it but can’t fork out €80 for it unfortunately! The additional €10 for the physical version sucks and I don’t really have enough storage space on my Switch 2 rn (waiting for a 1TB MicroSD express to be more widely available)

Safe to say the Shiny Charm is literally a game changer. Before this my only random shinies had been Flittle, Drifloon and Rellor, all in the first few months of playing but not much since then outside of shiny-boosted outbreaks, etc.

Since they’re dead-set on the track intermissions being a major part of the online, I hope they add a classic mode with no intermissions at all and only 12 racers (also tweak the item rates a bit cuz wtf 😭)… would make it so much better imo

Also Heavy Splatling Remix being Chirpy Chips-themed and Harmony being a more involved character in this game makes me feel like more weapons are nearly guaranteed. Especially how most of the new weapons from each class didn’t get new kits (especially stringer and splatana)

I think all weapons will get 3rd kits for an anniversary update PLUS The Reef as a returning stage. Not sure if they’ll do many more stages after that (I doubt they care about the empty page). Think with Raiders being next they might pad out Splatoon 3 if a new mainline isn’t coming too soon

Agree with you on people treating it like a live service and thinking Nintendo abandoned it when they always have timelines for updates… But NH missing a ton of features from NL at launch and the updates mostly being “old content” didn’t really help the game’s longevity by the end
