I think this is an overestimation of how much people outside of Westminster and the right wing press care about manifesto pledges. I'd rather have a government manage things in real time instead of trying to stick to ridiculous guesswork announced for four years into the future.

I guess we have to adapt to the idea that, if people are no longer going to be entitled to things governed by law, then they certainly aren't going to be given things they are used to via a 'gentleman's agreement', which I guess the relationship with the press is. Very sad.

Voting should be mandatory. Works in Australia. The least that should be expected of you as a person who expects to have their rights respected, is to at least bother enacting the most important one of them.
