Dems need to drop the culture war stuff and just completely disengage there.

Focus on the things people care most about: the economy, housing, healthcare, education, and more robust infrastructure.

Stay on target with the policy talk and follow through when given the opportunity to govern.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced questions from lawmakers in a pair of hearings Wednesday and did not directly answer whether he would vaccinate his own children against chicken pox and polio. He paused before answering, “Probably.”

lots of replies to this post saying things like:

"who cares?"
"i don't worry about boys"
"boys and men are falling behind? good."

and then we wonder, "why are boys and men shifting to being more misogynistic and right-wing in their beliefs?"

makes me sad. this is not a zero sum game.
I’ll never get over how, in an era when women’s rights and status are being attacked and eroded in law and culture alike, we were incessantly told that it was boys and men whose suffering we needed to attend to.

car-brained, neanderthal thinking
Trump: "When you say strollers are going up -- what kind of a thing? I'm saying that gasoline is going down. Gasoline is thousands of times more important than a stroller someplace ... you don't need to have 35 dolls. You can have 2, 3, 4, and save a lot of money. We don't need to feed the beast."

Back to the Future is such a great flick. One of my favorites.

The fundamental issue with AI, at least in my opinion, is that LLMs can't discern truth from fiction.

Sure, they could add guards or algorithms that weight the score of information from sources, but it's still, at best, scraping information written by a human and isn't making a value judgement.
I love that Google AIO is just citing the sarcastic conversation that @inspiredtaste.net and I had about this topic this morning, on X, as if the info is factual.

X is a bad platform.
Three users on X who feuded with Elon Musk in December saw their reach on the social platform practically vanish overnight, The New York Times found, signaling that Musk or others at the company have the power to punish critics and that they may be willing to use it. nyti.ms/4lF3pm1

The more concerning aspect of this saga is that it is extremely likely there were many other conversations occurring outside official, secure methods.

I use Signal, but this all comes off like an idiot thinking, "I'm using encrypted chats, just like how the government does."
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shared detailed information about strikes in Yemen to a second unclassified Signal group chat that included his wife and brother, people familiar with the matter said. nyti.ms/4jBQ1wV

I think this sets a bad precedent.

Policies and laws should be revisited and reevaluated with some level of regularity. Many of the problems we have in America are the result of old policies that are not adjusted for modern needs and realities.

It's wild to me that Trump and his goons are going after what is arguably the most prestigious university in the world and is an institute that has an alumni network of some of the most powerful, influential, wealthy, and intelligent individuals you'll find as part of a single group in the world.

I'd say this is probably illegal, but that word doesn't mean anything if nobody enforces the law.

If there was ever a crisis of incompetence in America, it's happening now.
There is no grand plan behind the Trump tariffs. There is no secret theory among his team. They're just idiots.

While U.S. culture and world leadership was already on a decline, COVID hyper-accelerated that process to a point that it has irrevocably broken the brains of hundreds of millions of people.

The loss of life to COVID is tragic, but the downstream effects of the virus will affect far more people.
