It's kind of a narrative adventure game / walking sim with strong story and characters. Really good game.

Fighting is not privilege. Giving up is privilege. Fighting is what you do when giving up is too awful to contemplate.

Taking away the fracturedness and the user-unfriendliness of Linux entirely would also take away what makes Linux special -- the flexibility and openness. We don't need yet another OS that's good for beginners and a stable target for closed-source development...we have at least two of those already.

I think desktop Linux is destined to always be a niche OS catered to tinkerers, and that's OK. If we ever got to the point that Linux was a good platform for everyone for all use cases, everyone who loves it now would be jumping ship and saying that, idk, Haiku is the only good OS.

Thing is, we have multiple versions of Linux that have gained widespread adoption for different use cases (ChromeOS, Android), and they all seem to go the same way -- they get locked down and people who like using Linux say they suck as much as Windows or Mac.

It kinda seems like, every time this discussion comes up, everyone presupposes that getting widespread desktop Linux adoption would be good and desirable.

Then you stick it in a case that triples the thickness, no doubt.

To be fair, Republicans have been saying "free speech" when they mean "I can say whatever I want and you're not allowed to criticize me" for at least a decade now.

Seriously, I have ketamine treatments for my depression, and I could barely write a single tweet while on the stuff, let alone hundreds. Heck, for most of the infusion, I probably wouldn't know what a tweet was. Or a computer. Or that I have hands.
