FTSB - replaced all caps and the two ICP-N10 fuses for the Focus/Tracking drive power rail. These caps are usually leaky, and these were no different - got that nice whiff of fish when removing them! Reflowed IC802 and the 4 transistors as well.

Next up is CONT - as usual, I reflowed the 3 right angle connectors to preclude any broken solder joints, which are fairly common!

Even though this unit got a new PSU, I still re-capped and performed the same preventative maintenance on the original - replace R301-304, reflow Q301-302, replace all ICP fuses, including a no-cut installation of the supplemental ICP-N50

Not sure these are particularly rare, but they are certainly some LD grails to me! I got to see Pat Metheny Group live all the way back in 2005, so these will be a fun watch.

Validated the Board Folk #LaserActive SYPS repro using a PSU that went supernova! In the process, I replaced the dead optocoupler & primary side BJT plus a pair of 2.2k resistors that were open circuit. You can see how rancid the original board was 🤮 Found 2 errors to fix also!

From what I can glean, this is the feedback circuit for the 15V rail. It's not a direct divider or anything, but the secondary of T603 is connected between the +15V rail and the emitter of the PNP soft start transistor, which also goes to IC611. I'd probably focus around there?

V SEN is going to be your voltage feedback for the controller. It looks like the AC is regulated down to some voltage. Which is further regulated after that

The Model 3 Wire Free install is almost a reality! I somehow deleted two bottom pads on the funk flex, and swapped the FM left and right on the AV flex, but it otherwise works perfectly!
