It’s grim, yeah… but also the world is going to burn and die regardless… so might as well love, care, and teach for our neighbors with our work. It’s been tough for me because of having a family I’ve resigned myself that I’m going to have to be in the machine continue making a living. Nothing new!

I’m happy to be wrong, I know longtime developers are also not happy with these tools that are in the end… also plagiarism machines. Just speaking working at a large tech company everyone is well beyond drinking the koolaide… so it’s up to us to keep the human at the center of it all…

I want to see it do more “chores” so we as artists can do more real art on the canvas.

I think trying to realize it as a tool for problem solving problems at scale is awesome too. Eg for this latest app I had Claude Code make a python tool with a UI to randomly generate article graphics based on a smaller library of human made assets.

If you have a vision, great taste, a love for real art, compassion, story, you are going to beat out creatively bankrupt people every time, you just have to be one step ahead of their game. Not saying everyone has to play it, just is what it is.

Here’s the great part for apps and websites: it’s enabling me to spend more time hand drawing art where previously I wouldn’t have the time. People are always going to lord technology over us creatives as replacing our job, but the reverse is also true. You don’t need them anymore.

Hi, I’m having to use LLMs for code daily at my job. I don’t think it’s going anytime soon unfortunately, but also I think people are overblowing its art and creativity abilities. Frankly it still sucks, and will continue to suck if it’s in the hands of people with no taste.
