Jamey is giving a paper on Re-Storying Trans Indigenous Contact on the Northwest Coast, 1774–1890. There is no common temporal or geographical thread we need to keep, moreso an approach to doing critical trans histories. Let us know if you need more info!

We originally applied to the Big Berks conference but since that’s not going ahead this year they created a panel with us for AHA. The panel is on trans history, broadly conceived. I’m writing about a defamation case in Germany that asked whether trans people were victims of the Holocaust

Sprinting can feel ‘easy’ comparative to endurance or resistance sports, but it’s a CNS and max output exhaustive exercise. Its benefits are rarely measured by fatigue and optimally fatigue only occurs in winter (sprint endurance) training or lactic acid inducing racing (>150m). Trust the process!

Weather and fatigue / injury permitting, you can always make the flys 15-20m, still 3-5 reps, build up max 30m from roll in. The purpose is to be super snappy and relaxed, to simulate the mid portion of the sprint. They shouldn’t leave you too fatigued! Real plyos and drive work will help with speed

Depends on a) how fast you’re going b) how this supplements your other training c) your desired conditioning from incorporating sprints. Flys should not feel hard! As a former sprinter, we would only do flys in summer, once a week, plus blocks and time trials (100m etc) and two weight sessions.
