I really want to do this for my Steam library. Little NFC bits I can tap on my desktop to steam://run. It would bring me so much joy.

Destiny, despite flaws, is a solid shooter that feels really good to play against others. I don't care too much for the NPC combat, but there's that mouthfeel of Halo combat still there and it slaps. Gimme that shit in my veins in an Extration and I will not leave the desk, terminally.

I really want Marathon to succeed, but a lot of that is old biases which are founded in old games which carry little in the scheme of modern developments, I imagine.

I do think people will try the others out, but I doubt they'll get a significant amount of converts. If there's one thing ARC has, it's accessibility. As a long time Hunt player, that game's loop is brutal, standstill due to the objectives, often incredibly exhausting.

The quality assurance surrounding those games have been always great, Westwood, EA LA, Petroyglyph and friends. So thank you. Red Alert was my first PC game, so they've always been close to my heart.

I wouldn't have had my foot in the door without QA at Unknown Worlds. The projects I worked with would also have been much, much rougher without their talented playtester teams.

Many of Subnautica's beloved features sprung from our discussions or were refined by our feedback.

Oh hey, I worked with him on a video game. As usual, his prose is only matched by his mathematical prowess.

Yeah, I'm totally with you. Not sure what the cube hype is, but I'd love to know!

Mouth of Madness is an absolutely hell of a ride. I try to watch it once a year.

I remember yelling "what color is the dress?" at people in games with proximal voice chat and ending their runs regardless of their answer.

So you're definitely not wrong. It's just a shame that we have all these crutches on which we rely.

Reminds me that I still have to play it. I will say, at least with UE4, lots of shared shaders made stuff uniform. Also, lots of games used the same megascans, there's definitely a part of me, someone who definitely used Castle Valley Collection, that when I see it used triggers fight or flight.

A lot of this is art direction. I think too many people force the realism without understanding the effects it has on stuff like lighting, level design, and general artistry. Make shit colorful. Use some abstraction. People need something that doesn't look purely real to really invest their eyes in.
