Oooh. Good point!

I have a double challah recipe that uses a bunch of melted butter and I am very tempted to do this just for the sheer chaos of it all.

Anyway, I'm done here.

Enjoy the last word, if you'd like to have it.

To be honest, I just can't be bothered to argue with you.

I've already read your responses to folks who engaged with you in good faith in the rest of this thread. You're not really listening to them. You know, the actual Jews explaining things to you about a topic they know intimately.

*shrug*

Okay. Stay unconvinced then.

We discuss this amongst ourselves every once in a while. Such as: bsky.app/profile/erin.... It's a common enough annoyance that we notice.

Anyway, feel free to believe me or not. I'm not interested in having a debate with you about it.

Sorry, that should say "thinking of".

(I would love a bluesky edit window. 😁)

No, you're not understanding what I wrote.

The people i'm think of are usually very anti-Christian.

This is incredibly helpful!! Thank you!!

We're okay! It's just been loud. And bangy.

If you're visibly Jewish online, you may run into people like this from time to time. They don't take into account other aspects of Jewish identity when speaking to us, but confidently and often vehemently defend their own assumption errors.

To put it differently: Christian-centered atheists often assume that what they know about Christianity applies universally to all religions and religious groups.

For example, they may argue that it's impossible for Jews to be agnostics or atheists.

Or, that faith is a Jewish requirment.

"Christian-centered atheists" exist.

They're atheists who have either a Christian background or social circle that force-fit Christian terminology and ideas into their criticisms of non-Christian groups.

They often don't understand the difference between a universal and an ethno religion.
