Irl you have to word stuff correctly. As in runes take the simplest path. So if you don't say "do not take from those I love your purpose." They will take it from the nearest person. In type moon I haven't seen any drawbacks

Any human proper mage or not can do runes. Unlike the other clock tower concepts runes are well known. Most likely the fate verse uses a stronger version than the ones everyday people can use. But yeah the difference is big
