athletes become marketable assets, which leads to them becoming celebrities. And yeah, platforming mega-rich, concussed ppl who haven't had a regular job is dumb

I feel like its less "organized sports bad", and more:

commercialization creates horrible perverse incentives, with a bunch of cascading negative consequences.

joining a local community softball league, great.

creating an entire industry based on glorifying a very small pool of athletes sucks
