I had a brilliant time in Wigan on Friday for a Your Party meeting.

People are so done with politics as usual and the demand for a genuine socialist alternative is growing fast.

We have more than 50,000 members, the biggest socialist party since the 1940s. Be part of it: yourparty.uk

Your Party's founding conference next weekend is an opportunity to put the distractions and drama behind us and refocus on what actually matters: our members, our movement and our shared political vision of socialism.

The time is now.

Over the past week I’ve met Your Party members in Hull, Durham & Luton, all united by a simple demand:

A genuinely democratic socialist party, led by its members & free from backroom deals, jobs for mates, sabotage & constant leaks to the Murdoch press.

It’s Your Party, it must belong to you 🫶🏽

I asked the Home Secretary how it feels to kick away the ladder and introduce anti-migrant policies endorsed by fascist Tommy Robinson?

She didn’t answer the question, calling it “beneath contempt”.

The only thing beneath contempt is her pound-shop Powellism. Shame on her & this Labour government.

If Lisa Nandy had any self-respect, she would resign as Culture Secretary.

Before my Question Time appearance, there was an attempt to sabotage the movement we’re building.

But the stakes are too high.

With inequality rising, child poverty deepening, migrants under attack & an emboldened far-right, we must keep fighting.

It’s socialism or barbarism.

The “magic money tree” exists: it’s in the City of London with the billionaires.

What’s missing isn’t money, it’s political will. Establishment parties bankrolled by billionaires aren’t going to tax their donors.

We are not going to take this anymore.

As a Muslim woman in politics, the abuse can feel relentless — but the Your Party meeting in Redbridge reminded me why I keep going.

So many people are ready to build this democratic socialist party and stand united against Islamophobia and hate.

Choosing between Keir Starmer and Wes Streeting is like choosing between the Kray twins.

Both choices are criminally dangerous to the country — but I’m not sure if Wes gets his suits paid for by Lord Waheed Alli.

Young people aren’t just part of this movement, they must be the engine driving it.

From trans rights to a party that backs renters over landlords, the fight for maximum member democracy matters so we can build a party led by its members, not MPs.

I had a great time in Manchester discussing this!

On this day 85 years ago, nearly 500 Luftwaffe bombers devastated the city, destroying the medieval church of St Michael’s and taking hundreds of lives.

Today is a powerful reminder of Coventry’s resilience and remembrance.

The UK cannot claim ignorance. British-made arms are being found in Sudan, where mass atrocities are unfolding.

I’ve written to the Foreign Secretary urging an immediate suspension of all arms exports to the UAE and urgent diplomatic action to stop the violence:

Last month I wrote to the Foreign Secretary about the detention of British journalist Sami Hamdi by U.S. authorities — a deeply troubling case for press freedom and human rights.

I’m relieved to hear that he’s set to be released and will return home to his family soon.

I’ve written to David Lammy demanding an urgent review of their detention and full respect for their rights:

Great event in Ealing last week at the stunning St Anne’s Church with local organisers and Your Party members!

We came together to demand action on housing, to support picket lines and to stand firm against racism and cuts.

Your Party must fight cuts — not administer them.
