I'll add more here eventually
Also while walking back to my hotel I passed by a school that had a bunch of different art displays along the fence, and shout outs to this one in particular

After that Google maps kinda had me wandering down a bunch of very empty Kyoto streets but I eventually got to my final stop for the day, Okazaki-jinja Shrine, which is dedicated to rabbits! There were a bunch of cool little guys

The silver pavillion had a real quiet beauty to it, I'm glad I got some nice pictures of it
November 19, 2025 at 11:59 AM
The view at the top of the path was pretty nice
November 19, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Ginkaku-ji was rather busy but I still managed to get some decent pictures while I was there
November 19, 2025 at 11:55 AM
After that I had some wonderful pancakes and coffee in a quiet little Cafe, while continuing to walk along the philosopher's path
November 19, 2025 at 11:52 AM
I then popped by Otoyo shrine, which was pretty small but had some cool inari statues, and also these two chill dudes
November 19, 2025 at 11:51 AM
The gardens were also really pretty, and seeing the pagoda up above everything in the distance was neat, it felt way higher up when I was actually up there
November 19, 2025 at 11:48 AM
Walked up a bunch of stairs to the pagoda and the view up there was incredible, especially with the mountains in the distance shrouded in clouds

I really like the multicolored banners that you see on some Buddhist buildings, was cool to see them in person
November 19, 2025 at 11:44 AM
This was the one temple where I actually got to walk through the building and had to take off my shoes and everything. It was a really cool place
November 19, 2025 at 11:42 AM
Then I went to Eikando temple, where I took way too many pictures.
November 19, 2025 at 11:40 AM
I do kind of regret not paying to walk to the top of the sanmon gate, but the signs by the entrance were a little confusing and I was a bit tired so opted not to
November 19, 2025 at 11:39 AM
Nanzenji was pretty cool, though I just walked the grounds for a while
November 19, 2025 at 11:37 AM
From there I walked towards the keage incline, cause I knew about a side entrance into the first temple I was heading to
November 19, 2025 at 11:35 AM
That being said walking along the shirakawa canal in the morning was very nice and chill
November 19, 2025 at 11:34 AM
Today was really nice but also kind of exhausting with the amount of walking I did, heck
November 19, 2025 at 11:32 AM
That's it for now though! Tomorrow I'll be walking the philosophers path on the east side of Kyoto, checking out a bunch more temples, then Thursday I'm heading back for Tokyo for the rest of my trip! I'll try to post more updates when time allows

After that I headed back down towards the train station, getting some udon for lunch from a lovely little teahouse... But what did I do for the afternoon? Well I found a delightful cat cafe ran by a local shelter, so I spent a couple hours playing with some adorable shelter cats!
November 18, 2025 at 12:23 PM
The place had a decently sized crowd, but I managed to get some good pictures still :3
November 18, 2025 at 12:19 PM
There were a lot of tanuki statues, but I liked this little guy in particular, his bowl had some coin offerings in it
November 18, 2025 at 12:18 PM
Walking up Saga Toriimoto street, I also checked out Adashino Nenbutsiju Temple
November 18, 2025 at 12:16 PM
After that I popped into Gioji Temple, which was small but beautiful
November 18, 2025 at 12:11 PM
The area a bit higher up from the temple was basically empty
November 18, 2025 at 12:10 PM
Next was Nisonin Temple, which was a bit quieter (I took that picture of the entrance on the way out when the crowd was getting bigger)
