The AI bros definitely want you to use the most heavy description, because it is what makes training the AI easier 🙄

The blind are not the ones calling on artists to add alt-txt, and trying to make them feel guilty if they don’t… that’s a psy-op!

How does using the most basic description, eg. “Painting of a dog” hurt the visually impaired? It communicates what the picture was of—and that is the only purpose of alt-text!

A long drawn out description, eg. “ oil painting of golden retriever, laying on porch, beams of sunlight” make it better?

Maybe a simple description: painting of dog, followed by SEO keywords or URL for your shop?

If there is no alt-text the visually impaired person doesn’t know what the picture was, but they aren’t better served by a prompt rich description of the painting—only that it was a painting…
