About Dragon Sorc with Fire affinity, it’s TECHNICALLY the optimal choice. You get Draconic resilience, you can pick the damage type you want to buff, and all that. But I feel like it’s dull in terms of roleplay potential.

I always felt that Storm Sorc was thematically cool. They get flying starting at level 1, starting at level 6 casting lightning/thunder spells causes a damage pulse around you. I may be biased because Lightning Bolt is my favorite spell despite how absolutely dumb it was back in Baldur’s Gate 2.
