5. Bad Company: Private Equity and the Death of the American Dream by Megan Greenwell

An eye opening analyzation and discussion of what private equity, an industry that operates in the shadows, does to destroy both private and public services in the name of profit for groups of powerful investors.

4. Autocracy, Inc. by Anne Applebaum

A great, although gentle on America, look at how dictators want to control and maintain power the world over and not just in isolated countries. This book reviews their successes, failures, and points to what future attempts at control may look like.

3. The Myth of American Idealism: How U.S. Foreign Policy Endangers the World by Nathan J. Robinson & Noam Chomsky

A scathing look at American Imperialism and the double-speak leaders participate in that sows chaos around the globe all under the guise of world peace and safety.

2. Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen

I terrifying and sobering look at just one of many nuclear scenarios that may play out should that line ever be crossed. I wild peek behind the curtain as to how nuclear war would play out and how easy it is to topple over the precipice into doom.

1. The Sirens' Call: How Attention Became the World's Most Endangered Resource by Chris Hayes

A great look at how the technology capitalists have ventured into one of the last vestiges of uncolonized space, our minds and attention, and how they are leveraging everything they have to profit off it.

Offline Project Backlog Game 4 - Trek to Yomi

A short little side scrolling samurai game. A pretty middling story with some basic gameplay. It felt like there could have been more depth to both. Even the B&W aesthetic worked against it in the longrun. I wanted to like this more.

Offline Project Backlog Game 3 - Donut County

This was a cute little game I had been meaning to play for a while. It was a nice sense of controlled chaos and there were tons of laughs to be had. Nothing life-changing but fun for the few hours it was around.

Project Backlog - Game 16 - Doom Eternal

This one was such a ride. They upped the adrenaline and pace of this one beyond what 2016 offered. It felt like they tripled the combat options you have at any given point, which was sometimes overwhelming.

Offline Project Backlog Game 2 - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion

A great little companion game to the mainline games. It was cool to see a bit of backstory about Midgar, Sephiroth, Cloud, and Tifa. The gameplay left a little to be desired, especially the amount of RNG.

I finally beat Nine Sols yesterday and what a game. I heard almost nobody talking about it last year and it was one of the best times I had in recent memory. A perfect cross of Hollow Knight and Sekiro gameplay. Each boss was challenging and memorable in their own way.

Not quite sure what to make of this. Air really throwing things off and I even forgot it existed until this moment.

Even being a huge Half-Life fan, I never played any of the expansions for HL1. Something I think I'm going to do my best to correct this year. The next time I get an itch for some old school FPS, I'm going to fire them up.

Going to use the Backlog Roulette on Infinite Backlog to find the games I haven't started.

All I know about Shining Resonance Refrain is that it's an action RPG similar to the Tales series and that was enough for me to buy it on sale. Although, finding time to play 100+ hour games is tough. 😅

Okay, so one of my mods showed me this and demanded I do it, so here I am...doing the thing.
