What can you expect from me?
Less politics than before--it's like screaming into the void.
Theatre. Puppies. Jokey-jokes. Gay stuff.

"My eyes are fully open to [our] awful situation..." (with apologies to Gilbert & Sullivan)

A meteor made a brief appearance, too.

Northern Lights. I think this is the first time I've seen an aurora.

Angela Lansbury would have been 100 today. I was fortunate to see her perform once, in the (misguided) 2010 chamber revival of Night Music on Broadway.

Let's enjoy some understudies today! #OhMary

"Yes, yes, let's talk about the weather.
How beautifully blue the sky,
The grass is rising very high,
Continue fine I hope it may,
And yet it rained but yesterday..."

Even though I just finished eating, I'm craving dessert. Something baked and fruity.

Respectfully, you're a couple weeks early here. Jul 2 is past the halfway point in the year. (183rd day of this year)

The first lady ... of the American theatre.

My last show of this trip. Despite the airplane economy-sized cramped stalls seats at the Nöel Coward, the Mischief team has another hit on its hands. Clever, hysterical, and at times gasp-inducing. The announcement of this show is what convinced me to book my vacation. It was worth every penny.

I spent this afternoon with some queens... to rest my poor feet. Had an excellent, as always.

I'm such a bad gay. I failed to take the obligatory playbill photo from my seat before the show. I was pleased with minor changes to the book and staging in this starry UK premiere.

I may need to rethink my impression from NYC that this is Marianne's show. It may actually be Fritz's show.

This afternoon's show. Cameron Macintosh's spectacular revival of Oliver! I really hope this transfers, it needs to be seen over and over.

Waking up stupidly early has its benefits. Barely any tourists getting in the way of the most popular sites and monuments. Granted, they open later in the morning, so you only get exterior views. And that's okay.

Doing what any self-respecting theatre geek should do on their first trip to the West End: pay a visit to the St. Martin's Theatre and see The Mousetrap. Current cast kept us guessing and delivered fine performances.

Not a fan.

Balladeer is chased off stage by the assassins in "Another National Anthem". Productions that then make him Oswald need to contend mightily with the text of the *Next Scene*

BALLADEER (to Booth, the same guy he harrassed & sang about for nearly 10 minutes in Scene 2) - "Who are you?" 🙄

What a loss! RIP William Finn. Composer/Lyricist of glorious music and bouncy melodies that could make a person laugh and cry at the same time. All played by a teeny tiny band.

New words added to the list today. No reason to give oxygen to the expected shit show and resulting discourse.

45 years ago today, a team of young hockey players representing the USA best the best team in the world to advance to the gold medal game.

This really is a fantastic movie.

This is going to be crazy.
But only 3 weeks?

Back to real life after today's matinee. Poignant discussions about identity and belonging. A timely one, in its way. And what a great ensemble, all making their Broadway debuts!

A fantastic little show at the Belasco, a must-see.

Probably the hardest theatre to find a show at (that I'd want to see) when I was in the city for shows.

At long last, I've been to all 41 Broadway theatres.

My next mission is to revisit those where I didn't enjoy the shows & see better ones.
