I wouldn't rush to underestimate the impact of hard power. The threat was always there. It's ridiculous comments like this that could see the 🇺🇸 exercise its threat and pull out of NATO.

Our King has extended an invitation to the democratically elected president of our main ally. The 🇺🇸 president has decided to use his prerogative to fold on this 🇷🇺 issue , which is his absolute right.

Just because one feels uncomfortable with 🇷🇺 shift of influence to its immediate neighbour, to the west doesn't mean Europe, and the 🇬🇧 1000s of miles away is next. If 🇷🇺 feels democracy across its borders leads to unintended security concerns, then they have the might and capability to resolve that.

Of course it should. The very thought of cancelling it would be ridiculous. It got nothing to do with 🇬🇧 directly, hence cancelling it would be petty at best

How could a former MP argue for anyone other than the electorates' interests. Sovereignty needs a lot more thought than an incumbents' policy position.
