I’m a big ESG nerd. ❤️ ⚡️🚗, 🪴, 🐕, and anything that helps folks live a more sustainable life. Let's focus on what we can do, today, to mitigate climate change!

I've spent 4 decades on 🌏, and the better part of 3 driving 🚗🔋⚡️. Lets help folks upgrade
Sold mine because not EV, still casually eying MX30’s for odd city EV but coming from three vehicles two now seems excessive.

What would the GTA aesthetic have been like if not based on SoCal?

Flow is such a fantastic parable, definitely check it out if you missed it last year! San Diego Symphony playing amazing as always!

Take this example, BYD Dolphin v ‘27 Bolt. Both have LFP (lol), both approx same size. Bolt is 65 kWh, ~3800 lbs v Dolphin is 60.5 kWh and ~3,600 lbs. The Bolt isn’t even out yet and the Dolphin will have been out for 3 years when the Bolt launches, Bolt’s launching with new tech 4 GM *behind* curve

"Level 1 wall charging is actually great in a pinch... Some EV owners who don't drive very often or very far still rely exclusively on wall charging, especially if their electric car is their second car."

I've not see '25, but Assurant's '24 study found >50% of EV owners charge Level 1.

This is the FUD inside EVs deliberately stokes. Plain and simple. Every deliberately obtuse post.

Anyone know how to see what auto companies their private equity overlords are invested in?
November 23, 2025 at 5:24 PM
I’m at the point where I just perceive any “I need an EV that goes 700 miles” as lazy FUD. Most new car buyers own a home, most are spending 40% more than a 318 mile IONIQ 5.

Yesterday I drove 300 miles without charging, plugged in, car charged while I slept, 190 miles of range added.

EVs rock!

Can’t ever mention they charge quicker than Tesla, must find some way to grind the Korean axe.

Anyone know how invested their private equity owners are in Tesla?

Gimme chonky buttons arrayed in logical areas plz

You can't convince me, at this point, that this outlet doesn't exist to juice mostly U.S. automaker sales, and keep folks almost entirely focused inward and unaware of what's going on.

Just comparing "LFP" in geriatric platform mostly slow charging EVs to China is disingenuous or nefarious...

Went with a buddy who has a Telluride and EV9, his purpose accompanying was to check out new Telluride and Palisade Hybrid.

Stumbled into the Lincoln Nautilus and was blown away by how much better it was inside than ANY Ford products by a mile and asked why, check sticker, *made in China*...

Oddities: Empty Rivian booth stuffed in back, most of this niche market has moved on to the next hype thing, Scout was packed. Fiat brought a second Topolino this year to emphases their lack of direction. Jeep $65k, 230 mi range max Moab flop. OG buss > Buzz flop.

It's very clear that Toyota is using their infamous slide-rule approach to really deconent their stuff in the face of Chinese and EV competition, and manufacturers already competing globally like Hyundai are on the offensive taking advantage of that lackadaisicalness.
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
^ That's the Telluride Hybrid X-Trail, so it's nice to see the more off-road oriented trims getting hybrids now. They also had a top spec limited with grey and... plum interior :P.

Interior was a big step up in brand and class, folks coming from LandCruiser were shocked, esp soft close doors.
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
I came for the Crater concept and Telluride stole the show for me. While U.S. automakers flat out aren't competing in the hybrid 3-ROW space and Toyota's pretty lazy there, this Telluride comes out swinging. Competitive powertrain, unmatched interior and refinement, and sans from grill, knock out!
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
The GV60 Magma is finally happening. I love the treatment of the front end and color, the rest is a little busy for my taste, rear is less resolved than IONIQ 6 N and the interior not mu cup of tea. Honestly not sure who it's for really? IONIQ 5 N's already the most fun performance EV.
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Hyundai had some examples of their expanded focus on off-road oriented trims both in the main lobby and up in their booth. The Crater's interesting but the elements below the belt line are a little fussy for my taste. I'd still love to see it come to market with so little competition in segment.
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
Hyundai's IONIQ 6 N was absolutely awesome, FINALLY a track focused performance EV sedan, the reviews and shoot outs are going to be epic, it's incredible what Biermann setup at Hyundai after he got bored with everything getting fat and lazy at BMW!
November 23, 2025 at 2:18 AM
I guess I should group some of these, so to kick it off:

No Substitute, No Marketing budget with 99% profit decline, offphhhhh.

Also, seeing a collection of odd dentist focused 911 trims adjacent really informed me they're just so lost, there's nothing special about the current 911, so big, bleh.
November 23, 2025 at 12:00 AM
R2 will win on Cargo, but it's about the footprint of the other CUVs, and if it continues the R1 interior and platform inefficiencies, I would not be surprised if it had less passenger volume regardless of more upright position. Americans really struggle, like with our servings, w/looks big.
November 22, 2025 at 11:34 PM
And part of it is the laziness of American car manufacturers and the market. We've seen in the R1S and EV9, or Equinox EV and IONIQ 5, that just because something is bigger in exterior size due to packaging inefficiencies, doesn't mean it has more room inside.
November 22, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Checked out the Scout concepts with a buddy who owns a Telluride and EV9, key demo

"This looks great, is it production?! How much?"
'Nope, entry level is targeting $60k, but like this it would be well above $80k if they were to produce as is'
'Back to the EV9'

Give it decent odds of not making it

"Just put the Kia/Hyundai filter on our stuff"
November 22, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Very obvious what's a great, new, clean sheet approach, and what's a temporary shoe-horn a Chinese pack that'll fit rush job. Wild these are so similarly priced.

Leaf drives like a modern EV. Bolt drives like an EUV. Night and day, and next to each other at the show so you can try them out.
November 22, 2025 at 4:13 AM
It's great compared to the slower, crappier cars that charge saps more :P
