Meta specifically? Yeah I don't get it either. Like VR has its niche & I like it but there's a lot of guff that didn't need to be made & so much money that was invested in nothing.

But I get why valve still purues it. For them it's about the long term even if it's niche now.

Then they kept harassing people anyway with their phones for TikTok clout.

I'm not arguing, I started out asking where your limits were and posited a hypothetical. I was curious how you were placing any dividing line. Clearly there is no dividing line for you. Sorry answering a genuine question frustrates you.

In this example though I would say the company needs to abandon the idea of releasing concept art as part of any collectors editions though as that would then be directly stealing others work.

Because in this case it's not used in the final product. A human comes in and makes something new from scratch inspired by the concepts.

I'm not calling the work generated by the AI inspired, I'm calling the end product made by a human using the prior work as inspiration. Which isn't a new thing.

If Obama presided over a "stagnant economy" the orange one is presiding over a dumpster fire on a roller coaster in freefall with the line ending in mid air at the top of Mount Everest.

It's spray paint, he's too cheap for real gold. But he claims it's real.
December 17, 2025 at 9:15 PM
At that point though is that any different from taking inspiration from other works and creating your own? Where do you make the distinction between theft and inspired by? My main gripe has been using AI assets in the finished products.

You realise of course that being tariffed doesn't erase all 22% of trade with the US? And that the figures you sent show exactly what I said 41% of our trade is with Europe, so reducing friction with Europe far exceeds any negative impacts from the US.

"Hoping for the best". So you suggest lay over and do nothing?

America is not the end all and be all of the world, much as they'd like to believe it.

We trade more with Europe than the US so reversing the damage of Brexit would far outweigh any damage TACO tariffs could ever do to us.

That's certainly a face that says "Why can I see and hear the help"

I think the logic was we can't trust this man but lets keep him on side for as long as possible so by the time he inevitably reneges on his promises we're in a better position to deal with it.

And so for the cost of a fancy dinner, we got time to prepare.

Inspired by the yearly videos & wondering if one of the techniques I've not seen you employ in your own DIY attempts would work. I bought some warm white lights.

3D printed some caps in assorted colours and applied them to the lights. (Snug fits no glue needed).

How'd I do dishwasher man?

Because they keep voting for that despite claiming to want something else.

You can boo AND vote.

I loved my pebble time.

So glad they're bringing them back. I use a OnePlus watch now, but if I were in the market the 30 day battery life would sway me to get the time 2. I always found the pebble did all I needed from a smart watch.

Yeah that kind of divisive politics.

He'll be sorry for "any perceived" lack of compassion or ignorance on his part. AKA how bloody dare you see me for what I am and call me on it.
October 30, 2025 at 1:37 PM
For better or worse they don't air that stuff publicly. "Don't complain, and never explain" is the firm's policy.

Idea being that the news cycle moves on & most of the time anything you can say will make things worse. However it's inflexible & doesn't account for the times they should speak out.

I mean it's something you can work with & compromise on. Okay we're all for sustainable communities but we can only go so far, so fast, etc...

I feel like greens are at least open to negotiation if it gets them somewhere.

We also know from their record Lib Dems can work in coalition with others.

If we're championing absolute privacy shut down these company practices, issue everyone with a randomly generated ID number that holds no details on them but grants them access to public services and provide everyone with a personal encrypted data stick holding relevant history like medical records
September 28, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Then there's the matter of Meta and other private companies holding far more personal data. In fact Meta has been found to build a profile on people who haven't even signed up to their services. Some companies now tie reduced prices in store to having a loyalty card with them.
September 28, 2025 at 4:36 PM
If I have a passport (oh another ID tied to my personal details). The truth of the matter is the government already has my info but is inefficient by using multiple systems to manage it. You can still silo the data to specific departments even if one ID unifies my ability to access them.
