Ahw shit, I've only recently been hearing of some of the... notable, things from the GNOME devs. Like you said, I like the idea of GNOME a lot more than the product as well.

The circle apps are great, but... what's stopping me from running them in another DE, yknow? Staying KDE for now. <3

Also, perspective is always a thing, for sure. Artists can do cool things and put spins, so I can't just assume that all lyrics by face value.

That doesn't change that some music is *truly* just outright encouraging or excusing such shit behavior, tho. Those musicians are wack to me.

Definitely fair. I went to Linux Mint first, and that was purely out of interest for something new. Cinnamon + Mint was amazing, but I quickly found KDE and was just obsessed. Tried different distros overtime, but my three favorites nowadays are probably Arch, NixOS & good old Debian.

Believe me, I'm a noob to this stuff and actually trying to understand it. I'm trying, haha.

Thank you! Seems chill so far and am happy to be here. Saw your post about running Linux in 2012 from the GNU/Linux feed and felt like such a baby.

I've only been driving Linux on-and-off since 2021, daily since the start of this year! Made the full jump to Arch on the 1st and been loving it.

openSUSE + KDE was exactly what I wish I knew existed when starting to run Linux, to be honest. I didn't need the stability / delayed updates of Debian and liked rolling release, but still needed my hand held juuust a little bit haha.

YaST is a pretty solid beginner friendly tool.
