fedora specifically, yea. i don't use RedHat enterprise. i hear mint is quite great for newcomers as well, but as someone who's used mint (it is truly great) and a bunch of other distros, i recc fedora to newbies as it has more recent advancements (especially for gaming) and in general is newer!

you have the backing of RedHat, which is nice, along with a rock solid community and a helpful one at that, plentiful repos, and is up-to-date. it just works, like, 95% of the time. i love fedora.
