Iran has forcibly deported over 717,000 Afghan refugees and migrants since March 2025, with the total for the year exceeding one million. For them, crossing the border isn't an arrival home—it's the start of a new crisis.
Many arrive in Afghanistan with no money, no food, and no shelter.
