Had a great time presenting on embedding employability into PGT education via a programme-level ePortfolio & seminar series supporting student growth, at the inaugural #iLead2025 Conference at KCL

Great to connect with colleagues & hear inspiring work on inclusive education & assessment innovation.

Left the Page to Practice with King’s Academy feeling inspired! Scholarship isn’t just about publishing—it’s about identifying gaps, shaping practice, and creating meaningful change. Rebecca Upshar’s work on quality appraisal in education shows the power of research to drive impact. So interesting.

Legally, public recording is fair game. But ethically? We film misconduct, racism, war crimes—but what about a stranger dancing in the park? How do we teach the next generation to balance accountability with respect for privacy, not voyeurism or content at others’ expense? #Ethics #Privacy

The Can’t Help Myself robot worked itself to death, cleaning a spill that didn’t actually keep it alive. How many of us are stuck in cycles of exhaustion for things that don’t serve us? What are your ways to avoid burnout and reclaim balance?

We will no longer stay silent or accept thoughtless care. We won’t be brushed off with antihistamines, IBS labels, or painkillers. Menopause, periods, endometriosis, and fibroids aren’t trends to profit from—they’re real health issues. It’s time for women to rise up, advocate, and demand real care.

Graduates face a challenging labour market where rising costs squeeze take-home pay. Life skills are as vital as academic credentials. Education must evolve to blend subject and skills-based learning, preparing students to thrive in this new economy. #FutureSkills #NationalStatistics #Success

This was an inspiring workshop by @jldhe.bsky.social on publishing pedagogic knowledge at KCL. Two editors eased our nerves, answered questions, and encouraged us to contribute. Excited to read, review, and create for this journal. Time to share our practice! #JLDHE
I’m heading down to London for a busy few days!

Tomorrow, I’m visiting #RSA House, meeting our #JLDHE Liberating Learning Guest Editors, delivering a workshop on publishing in #JLDHE at KCL and engaging in our full-day editor residential. @thersaorg.bsky.social @jldhe.bsky.social

Scholasticide devastates societies by targeting educators, scholars, and institutions. Destroying knowledge is easy; rebuilding it takes decades. If you fund scholasticide, you bear the responsibility to fund the restoration of schools, universities, and learning systems to rebuild futures.

As a PGR programme lead, I understand the challenge highlighted by The Times. We’re actively seeking ways to communicate effectively, but there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. Emails, forums, newsletters—how do we decide what’s worth students’ attention? How can we strike the right balance?
Students feel that they receive “too many emails” from their universities, and that they find their institution’s communications “inconsistent, inauthentic, and rather annoying”, researchers have found

#AcademicSky #EduSky
Students feel ‘spammed’ by ‘overload’ of university emails
Institutional communications branded ‘inconsistent, inauthentic, and rather annoying’ by study participants

The marginalisation of women’s pain is captured in three words: ‘Make an effort!’ As if we haven’t tried everything—medical, holistic, mental, lifestyle changes, and relentless research—while waiting for the health system to care. It’s time to stop silencing women and start listening to them.

Watching Wicked, inspired me to re-read the books. The film was fun but didn’t capture the richness of the world—its politics, cultural diversity, being misunderstood. I can’t help but wonder what a film true to the books could’ve been—a complex story that embraced the darker, messier themes.
