There is a similarly named Grape Lane in Whitby too. And of course Tickle Cock bridge in Castleford. Which the present day Victorian minded council people wanted to change.

Maybe if Sir Clive hadn't faffed around with electric trikes nobody wanted, and a QL nobody wanted (or could even get for way too long) then he'd have had money and time to get his wafer foundry running. But no doubt it would have been making stuff nobody wanted like Transputers.

Can I have something between the two? I mean, I like Keis, but I do get a bit nervous when my knees are the crumple zone. Bedford Rascals were utterly terrifying to be a passenger in.

Not the best, but still pretty good, Christmassy and very evocative for me. Also reminiscent of:

This one is more you though. A year older, but only 3400 miles. Also a Category S insurance thing and a similarly pitiful range.

This was peak.. well peak everything really. Xmas 1983. A £26 Atari VCS cartridge comes out as £89 today. I thought Vectrexes cost more than that! But I guess they just weren't on my radar, with C64/Speccy/etc being so much more for the money.

You must surely be due a mahoosive win before Christmas!

Aye, its bonkers. I just looked it up on the 1979 Argos laminated book of dreams. £67, which seems more like it. Down to £47 by 1984.

Crikey, £95 for a black and white portable telly. That seems a bit expensive even for then.

..but fools seldom differ 🤡

There is a legal phrase "without prejudice" that you can insert at the top of such letters. In essence, I believe it means "this letter means nothing and has no weight in law, but what would you say if..."

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, she has family down there and a chance came along for a break after a super hard working year. Win-win all round. Its not like you can't communicate easily these days.

Thats so you 😆
I totally understand why though, I'd have wanted to do the same.

That first pic is adorable!

Aww! 🥲
Extra congratulations both. Big hugs!

Is this car the white Panda, or another car in a different country?

I wonder how many Capris and Escorts that show sold. They always made sure that the Fords beat the other guys. Wasn't difficult 😎

Get some of those plastic box ones from the pound shop or Savers etc.

😬😕

To be fair, you got 1000+ miles of transport out of it too. Which would have been way cheaper than the train + taxi.

I was/am a Leeds supporter, and I think he was playing for us at the time. Absolutely top bloke by all accounts, used to go over to the disabled supporters area before the game and have a good chat with everyone.

That's genuinely quite shocking. Blimey, better buy a lottery ticket!

I play the game Graveyard Keeper, where there is a skull (called Gerry) that follows you around being generally sarcastic. So I know this to be true.
