We watched Mickey 17 last night.

It was a delightful dark comedy that doesn't follow Hollywood norms.

And that's a good thing

I use AI.

But I use local AI.

Don't give your money or information to Big Tech. Learn to use their tools against them.

Any other Alberta engineers get this email saying this year was a freebie for professional practice?

Seems like something big is in the works, and I'm worried.

Take a look at his ear.

Looks like a healthy, normal ear.

Not like an ear that was hit with a high velocity rifle round.

I'm reading Blood in the Machine by @bcmerchant.bsky.social.

It tells the story of oppression of the working class by technology and the brutality of the entrepreneur class. This happened 200 years ago, but it's the same story that's happening now.

I'm starting to think I'm a Luddite.

I just finished book 6 of the dungeon Crawler Carl series.

I highly recommend it.

It's a fun read, touching in parts, and is ultimately about rebellion against a power that doesn't care if you live or die, just that you make them profit.

We need to drop the jokes. The threat to Canada is very real. Our sovereignty is not guaranteed.
The fight is just getting started.

Pretty good. It works a bit like a Wiki, so you can link to pages and sections. I've rearranged my setup a few times. You can drag and drop pages around, cut and paste, etc.
This is what my current layout looks like.

Iron Sky (2012) is about a Nazi base on the Moon attacking Earth.

A fun movie I have to rewatch to see now to feels with recent world events.

I just started the Audio Book of Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, and I am having the best time.

Highly recommend as a way to zone out from real life and have some fun.

We don't have to follow corporate greed. We can get our entertainment elsewhere.

Take back control of your lives.

Well. That's not great.

I'm falling back on physical media and local storage. There are options that don't require a monthly fee

They are changing very rapidly. It will be years until we slow down.

What data are you looking at?

All the information I've read shows the exact opposite.

Engineers play a critical role in shaping the energy transition. But how can we ensure that our input is heard and valued as we move towards cleaner alternatives?

Join me tomorrow at noon as we talk about ethics in the energy transition.

According to our engineering code, we must hold paramount the health, safety, and welfare of the public and have regard for the environment. But when does this ethical obligation kick in during the construction of new fossil fuel projects?
