My first time revisiting this one in years. Prime 3 might be the most ambitious game on the Wii, taking full advantage of motion controls and incorporating multiple planets, a wider cast, and even voice acting. Worth your time if you have a good way to play it!

Having never actually finished a run of this game before, I thought it would be a fun game on and around Halloween. It feels a little dated , but this game makes up for it in charm. I miss this era of Mario, where every side character had a distinct personality and story!

Pokemon feels like it has evolved at a glacier pace for years now. This game finally feels like a big step forward, thanks to a fresh battle system, solid pacing, and a lot of fun side-content. Easily one of my favorites in the 30 years I’ve been playing these games.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting with Keeper, but I knew I wanted to see whatever Double Fine was cooking up. And it was great! It’s a beautiful journey filled with fun puzzles and creative imagery, and I think it’ll be great for fans of games like Limbo and the like.

Fortnite lit some MMPR nostalgia for me, and I decided to finally check this out. The source material is a GREAT fit for this kind of brawler, and I love the ways they incorporate the bikes and zords to give you breaks in the core gameplay.

I loved the base game, but never started the expansion when it came to PS5. This turned out to be a great standalone experience, and a perfect appetizer for Yōtei next week!

This has been a long time coming. I bought and started it years ago, but never got back to it until recently. Truly one of the best Metroidvanias out there and I’m glad I finally gave it the time it deserves!

What a perfect storm this was. Coming off a decent experience with Arceus and hyped for Z-A, I found this game for $10 shortly after it received a Switch 2 update. And what a game! Bummed I let a string of misses keep me from this for so long. Best Pokemon in a long time!

This DLC was a fun reminder of how good Forgotten Land was. Doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but gives you enough to go back to and stay engaged. Similar to the base game, the ending is quite difficult, so be prepared!

This caught my eye during the last Indie World, and it was well worth the $10 price tag. It made for a great game to play for little bits at a time to wind down before bed. The puzzles are satisfying but rarely frustrating. Would love to see more of this!

This game is a brilliant love letter to retro side scrollers. The pixel art is gorgeous, the gameplay is engaging, and the game is TOUGH. A few things keep it from being one of my top games this year, but nothing that should stop you from playing it!

This is the title to buy a Switch 2 for. It’s a culmination of all of the things that make Nintendo great in one great game. It truly feels like a step forward in the genre, and maybe gaming itself. Do not skip this game!

Did I play through this game immediately after watching Independence Day? Of course I did. Star Fox 64 remains one of the my favorite N64 games because it is just so charming and infinitely replayable.

I hadn’t realized until just now that this is the first Pokemon game I’ve beaten since X&Y over a decade ago. It has its flaws, but I really enjoyed the ways it evolved the formula to be a little more action oriented. Ran great on the Switch 2 as well!

I played this as a Linked Game with Oracle of Seasons, carrying the story forward and getting the true ending of the duology. These two games are very distinct from each other, and I think I grew to appreciate that more this time around.

Kali and I jumped right into this game after Part 1. I was way more hands off this time, as this felt much more modern to her than the first one did. And even though I think the first is the stronger game, she thought it was a significant improvement. Go figure!

I missed this back when 3D World was rereleased, but with Nintendo EPD’s next game on the horizon AND this game receiving a Switch 2 upgrade, it was finally time. And I really enjoyed it! It’s a fun sandbox to play in, and I really loved the kaiju Bowser stuff!

As one of my earliest Zelda experiences, OoS holds a special place in my heart. It retains a lot of what made Link’s Awakening great, while carving its own path with interesting items and occasional nods to the NES original!

I wasn’t sure when to consider this “beaten”, but I’ve enjoyed playing through all of the cups and rallies, with occasional pit shops into the open world and online. Not my favorite Mario Kart, but definitely a competent launch title for Switch 2!

I always wanted this game as a kid. Link as a playable character? How cool was that?! I’ve almost picked it up several times over the years, but playing it via Nintendo Classics was in awesome way to break in my new NSO GameCube controller!

Having just finished Ocarina of Time, it’s easy to compare and contrast what these games do better than one another. This game is at its best when it’s showing off its living world and deeper side quests. Still one of my all-time favorites.
