As I have said before: I don’t think it will happen in my lifetime. The problem is deeply engraved into the country and without dramatic changes (new republic and constitution) they will not be trusted.

As a half Dane I’m not happy with how Danish companies handle their business, Ecco and Lego are now on my no buy list. Sad to se you go, but I cannot have a supplier with no values.

I so agree on this. It’s been my fear for so long now. I place a lot of responsibility on press and media. I see the «commercialization» of media and the chase of clicks as a big threat, but also closed social media echo chambers. However I truly believe in freedom of speech, so this is difficult…

Even with freedom (in most ways) Americans live in a bubble. This includes everyone. Trust is low between people and towards «the government». I think it has to become really bad before people take to the streets. Smart Americans are so «fatalistic» about this if you read social posts.

While those that voted did a great job, to many did not vote. Even though black only constitute a minority of the voters, in Georgia, North Carolina and Pennsylvania a mere 65% turnout of black voters would have turned the election. Young black male voters flipped this election by not voting.

Most people I know, media where I live and GOP have known for years (decades) that 2024 was the last election Republicans could win due to demographics. That’s how they have slowly rationalized using the methods they have. It was their last chance to keep power. This is what «Project 2025» is about.

But still, if it is worth fighting for… If more black people had voted (and not in landslide turnouts) the democrats would have won, the president and both chambers. I am aware of the flawed US election system including voter suppression, meandering and manipulation of census. Don’t be fatalistic…

Can't sleep. Had a look at the 2024 election demographics and turnout. Black voters had a turn out of only 38% If they had been only 60% (and that's still low) you would have had another government. So...

Everyone have to fight this, I live in a tiny but very well run country, with extreme equality, transparency and trust in every way. Living in a world sharing a border with one nuclear fascist state and having another right across the sea on the other side is just not cool…

I totally understand you. But when the new majority is dismantling the country and breaking laws and maybe even the constitution new rules might apply. If this happened in my country I would actually rather die trying than give in. Her is a snapshot from a relevant part of my bookshelf by the way 😉

I agree in the respect for election results. But if the majority is breaking laws and maybe even the constitution? Does that change the rules? Just asking.
