World Mental Health day has always made me feel angry. I know what purpose it serves - get the normies onside, butter them up a bit, stop them freaking out quite so much when I wig out - but I always, always, always, have a shitshow of a day on that day. (minor thread)

My advice for performance poets would not be so much "Always leave the audience wanting more", but rather "Do not leave the audience wanting less".

Once, back before I was quite so old and hideous, I was in McDonalds and a guy pointed at me and shouted "DEAN CAIN!". For years I took some small joy in this, but thanks to MAGA I can no longer do so. As usual it is I, the affluent straight white man, who suffers the most.

Very troubling, as an autistic fuckup, to see main character Ian Dunt being raked over the coals for what people guessed he meant rather than what he actually meant. Just because mockery feels good against right-wing chuds doesn't mean you have to do it all the time to everyone.
