Nice! I love the Gysin reference.

You're just missing the classic DON'T DEAD OPEN INSIDE

As you can see in the screenshot, the audio changes volume throughout the track, and as you can hear in the video below, it is a discordant droning sound.

(For this clip I added a fade in and out to make it more bearable)

Yesterday, I was looking for things to delete so I could make some more room on my hard drive, and I discovered a 28GB Audicity file on my Desktop that I have no recollection of.

This file:
- has a single track that's over 22 hours long
- is named "maybe.aup3"
- was created on October 31, 2022

This is the best aurura picture I could get here in Virginia. I know mine isn't the greatest photo, but it is just really nice to see people from all over the world sharing their experience and looking up together.

I'm a fan of casual foraging whenever I am in the woods but have avoided mushrooms as not worth the risk. My phone identified these beauties as the edible Eastern Cauliflower, so I took one home, cooked and ate it. It was good! (And no ill effecfs 12+ hours later.)

FYI "disk storage" can also mean "a place to store your extra disks".

I can't explain why I had a two-year old file named "patrick_screams.txt" on my phone, but it's making me nostalgic for an earlier era of neural network text generators.

I'm not really a fan of chatGPT, but I asked it to describe my class in the style of Werner Herzog. It's not bad:

Evidently, the forests of this island off the coast of Estonia are haunted by cute, two-dimensional sprites of some sort:

The new grease gun I just purchased is recommended for "steamboat"

And this one -- while in no way a "a highly realistic and detailed representation of a giraffe in ASCII art" -- has a kind of beauty to it.

In case anyone is curious, chatGPT is still struggling with ASCII art:

Earlier this week, I had an opportunity to spend time at the University of Delaware's Special Collections library. Here are a few snapshots of some favorite discoveries...

I am now a proud owner of a copy of The Black Book by Jean Keller (Lulu Edition), the "best possible value" from a print on demand service since it uses the maximum amount of ink possible.

I was not prepared for that surprise ending!

I'm not completely done with my new office set up and organization, but I think my main writing station is working well.
